Campaigns. Concepts. Storytelling.
My Approach
For me, the Kansas City Roller Warriors was never just another design job.
As both an active skater and a member of the Executive Leadership Team, I had the unique opportunity to help shape the league from both inside and outside the track. Every poster, merchandise collection, social campaign, and event promotion was created for a community I am actively a part of.
KCRW roller derby is built on a simple idea: powerful people on wheels. The non-profit league is run by the skaters within it, and exists to create opportunities for athletes, community, and provide a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds. My role was to help tell that story visually while building awareness around our teams, events, and league mission.
Over multiple seasons, I led marketing initiatives, directed creative teams, developed campaign strategies, and established visual systems that connected dozens of touchpoints into a cohesive experience. Whether someone discovered us through social media, attended their first bout, or purchased team merchandise, every interaction was an opportunity to strengthen the identity of the organization and the community behind it.
Project Snapshot
Project: KCRW is Kansas City’s premier flat track roller derby league, drawing crowds of up to 2,500 fans while operating as a nonprofit organization built on the philosophy of “for skaters, by skaters.” As an elected member of the Executive Leadership Team, I led marketing operations and creative strategy across multiple seasons while also competing as an active skater in the league.

The Challenge
Create a unified identity for multiple teams, events, campaigns, sponsorships, and merchandise collections without allowing the brand to become repetitive. Each season needed to feel fresh, exciting, and distinctly its own, while still remaining unmistakably Kansas City Roller Warriors branded.
